Amazon x St. James Art Show Activation
Amazon Local Register: Engaging Small Biz at the St. James Art Show
In August 2014, before 5th Quarter Digital officially took shape, our founder got his first taste of brand activation by stepping into the world of experiential marketing with Amazon at the iconic St. James Art Show in Louisville, KY. This gig would unknowingly spark the journey toward building 5QD.
As a Brand Ambassador, he handled event set-up, tear-down, and on-site representation for Amazon’s rollout of the Amazon Local Register (ALR), a mobile card reader targeting small businesses with competitive promo rates. The mission was to drive awareness and adoption among the thousands of vendors and visitors attending the festival.
A key tactic? Live onboarding of vendors to ALR right at their booths, plus troubleshooting in real time to ensure seamless setup and usage. Beyond tech support, he amplified Amazon’s presence through direct consumer engagement—handing out branded tote bags and promo materials to thousands of festival-goers, ensuring lasting brand visibility.
This activation not only raised awareness of ALR and helped Amazon tap into a new segment of small business owners, but it also laid the foundation for the ethos of 5th Quarter Digital: show up, engage directly, and make every moment count.
